Requiem For The Dead - Always & Forever

Well Californian industrial rockers Requiem For The Dead have been a highlight to my musical findings this year; ex I Am Ghost frontman Steven Juliano, who happens to be one of my favourite vocalists, fronts this band. Day by day the band have releasing songs from the album this post is all about, creating a an exciting build up to this day where it is now available to download. As a fan of the band and being a highlight in my musical findings I can now reveal this album was well worth the wait. The prelude Sad Boy Meets Sad Girl is so beautifully uplifting; it sets the tone of the album immediately and I got excited hearing it as it smoothly transforms into the next track Those Lovely Shark People. After that the album continues to make me smile; it was the very thing to wake me up before heading off to work today. The acclectic collection this band have created is just mindblowing; the upbeat feel good ones such as Those Lovely Shark People make you smile and then you are haunted by the really dark industrial ones such as The Death Note Of Shipwrecks.

Overall an amazing debut album; it is definitely one of those albums you can listen to over and over again. Hope to see them across the pond sometime.

Stand Out Tracks:  Blonde To Red, The Misadventure Of Coffin Kid and The Terrible Tale Of Two

Requiem For The Dead - The Death Note of Shipwrecks music video

There was a very exciting build up to the premiere of Requiem For The Dead's debut music video; they have impressed me with their music so far, this video showed me a darker tone of music to the band. This song is more industrial then the other songs so far; but it's awesome they experiment with a different sound and being able to pull it off like these guys have done is a big utter bonus. The industrial sound matches the video perfectly; fast paced editing, the very high contrast of dim and bright lighting used here to highlight the different band members adding to the dark vibe the band give in this song. The video was a great sucess in my eyes; Requiem For The Dead have done it again, cannot wait for the album that I hope will be released soon. I now leave you with a music video that could be in Tuomaslotte's best music videos of 2011 somewhere.

Requiem For The Dead - Those Lovely Shark People

Following the positive reception of Act One:  The Terrible Tale Of Two I was very excited when I heard this band released a second song of the mysterious album they are currently working on. So downloading it this morning after having only hearing one minute teasers I was very excited to hear the whole thing; after hearing it I cannot decided which song is better, this song like the last one had a positive upbeat vibe whilst the lyrics remain dark. I really treasure this unsual approach to music, if the whole album is as good as those two songs then I have absoulutely nothing to worry about.

If you like the song, go to the band's Facebook page then click on the 'Band Page' tab to get a free download.

Requiem For The Dead

Californian rockers Steven Juliano and Justin Mcarthey, originally from I Am Ghost have started a new band called Requiem For The Dead. Fans had been waiting for a song from them for a while and I can say as a fan the wait was worth it as they released a song for a free download. When I clicked the play button on the media player on my laptop I thought it was to sound similar to their previous I Am Ghost material, but I was wrong. It had a different sound, which I liked very much, hearing Steven's vocals had me reassured...he is one of my personal favourite vocalists and have huge respect for him. His clear vocals harmonized well with Kim Moreau's and Klaryssa Korolenkov's vocals, all of them very talented singers. What I also liked about this particular song is that it sounded like a very happy, energetic song but it also had very dark lyrics; that is very unique approach I think, it works :D This is possibly the third time I have listened to this song today and I am still buzzing, looking forward to the album you guys.
